Who is John Winthrop?

He was a puritan that lost his job as a lawyer

one of the leading figures in massachusetts bay

hoped to make it a ” city on a hill ”

Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson troubled him

also lead first large immigrants

in 1630 he served as governer

then became Lord of the Manor at Goton

led a group of colonists to the new world

founding a number of communities on shores

that is John Winthrop.
